DANCE

DANCE explores how AI-based motion tracking can connect physical activity, digital entertainment and cultural experiences.

Using a standard 2D camera, the platform captures a user's movements and compares them with a reference dance or choreography. The system analyses movement, provides an interactive score and generates visual feedback while the user follows the selected dance.

Users can select or upload dance content, allowing the platform to support different dance styles, communities and cultural traditions.

The concept combines computer vision, movement analysis and gamification to create an accessible experience that encourages people to move, learn and engage with dance without requiring specialised sensors or equipment.

What We Are Developing

The solution focuses on:

  • 2D camera-based body and motion tracking
  • Reference choreography analysis
  • Movement comparison and scoring
  • Real-time audiovisual feedback
  • User-generated and curated dance content
  • Gamified progression and engagement
  • Digital access to different cultural dance experiences

Target KPIs

The project will evaluate both technical performance and user impact, including:

  • Motion-tracking accuracy
  • Movement-matching and scoring consistency
  • Feedback latency
  • Active minutes per user
  • Dance/session completion rate
  • Repeat participation and user retention
  • User satisfaction and ease of use
  • Diversity of dance content and participation
  • Engagement with new dance styles and cultural content

Focus

Using accessible AI and computer vision to make movement, dance and cultural participation more interactive and engaging.
